I just respecced my lvl 50 druid to balance, got this thing, it looks absolutly awesome:P but has little effect on mobs with high hp, at rank 2 it does 75 dmgs, that's 750 over 10 sec if it doesnt get canceled (which it probably will against targets at your own level), on a f.eks a lvl 39 elite has maybe 4-5000? That's not too much help really.
Gameplay: So first off, after getting wax and wane with your arti weapon, your most-cast spell should be moonfire. Its initial damage exceeds that of solar wrath, and the damage output over time remains higher even with solar wrath benefiting from solar empowerment.
Aug 16, 2017 If you assume, that both chars cant crit and dont have mana regen i calculated following values when both chars have 6000 mana, and 300 Spellpower. (Druid skilled -9% mana costs and +10% dmg bonus, mage skilled +6% dmg bonus and -15% mana costs) Spell Wrath (Spell dmg bonus is 2/3,5) Rank BaseDmg Mana Dmg DPS DPM Time till oom.
Lets say we wear a ring that adds 5 lightning damage to spells. As for now all skills get exactly 5 damage bonus but it would make sense to scale up this number for skills that consume way more willpower and have long cd (like Tear of Etheliel), otherwise skills with no cd( like fireball), would benefit way more.
Balance Dmg Over Time Spell Free
My most powerful spell in my arsenal, even for single targets is currently an AOE spell. While I have a spell in a higher tier, it makes less damage AND takes 50% more mana AND is only for a single target. So the balance in between the different damage spell 'tiers' and the level of the spell depending on the Arcane stat is a bit off in general.
EDIT: i don't mean to just scale added damage but to introduce sort of a special skill parameter that defines how much that skill benefits from flat damage increase. Such system was introduced in many Arpgs to balance things up and worked pretty fine.
